The United States Hunter Jumper Association announced on Nov. 15 that the $100,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals, now in its third year, will return to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The finals are scheduled for August 19-20, with Round 1 taking place on the 19th and Rounds 2 and 3 on the evening of the 20th. This year, the finals will relocate to the KHP's outdoor Johnson Arena, where the inaugural finals were held.

The inaugural finals were nothing short of spectacular. In the Johnson Arena, the creativity of course designers Bobby Murphy and Patrick Rodes played a huge role in making the event so special. The sizable outdoor arena with the lakeside view helped create a thrilling yet traditional venue. Rule Changes Among all the activities at Annual Meeting rule change proposals are always at the top of everyone's list. USHJA strives to educate its members of the changes and proposals each year. We have placed all the hunter jumper relevant rule change proposals on our website, as well as video explaining upcoming rules that will be in effect for 2011. The USHJA Amateurs Committee would like to draw special attention to a rule change proposal that has clarification regarding GR1306. Registration The USHJA Annual Meeting, presented by the Texas Hunter Jumper Association, will be held December 6-9 in San Antonio, TX at the Westin La Cantera Resort. Registrations will be offered at a discounted price through December 1. Be sure to check out the schedule, as there are many business and social activities planned for this event. Awards Award winners, if you plan to attend, you will need to purchase tickets for the Evening of Equestrians awards dinner; however, if you do not plan to attend any other functions, you do not need to pay the full registration fee for the USHJA Annual Meeting. In order to accept your award and be included within the script, you will need to provide your invitation at the USHJA Annual Meeting registration table prior to the awards dinner. Awards being presented which require check in: Champions for all divisions of the Stirrup Cup Awards (previously the Foundation Awards), Regional Affiliate Sportsmanship winners, Rider Recognition Awards-winners of each money section, and Owner Recognition winners.
