USHJA Announces Record Year for 30-day 2015 USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Stable Challenge

More than 1,200 quizzes, 12 winners and loads of fun in the Stable Challenge presented by The Plaid HorseSC

After 30 days of studying and quiz taking by USHJA members across the country, the 2015 USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Stable Challenge, presented by 
The Plaid Horse, concluded with record participation numbers. More than 1,200 quizzes were taken on behalf of more than 320 trainers across every zone, marking a 300 percent increase over participation in 2014.


"We are ecstatic about the participation this year in the Stable Challenge," said Cricket Stone, chair of the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Ad Hoc Committee. "It's beyond what we could have hoped for, and it means that equestrians across the country are embracing the importance of horsemanship, which is what the quiz is all about."

Don't Miss the Deadlines!

  • Pre-Green Incentive Championship Qualifying Period: ends August 5, 2015. Horses must be enrolled and compete in a minimum of two USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Stake classes between December 1, 2013 and August 5, 2015 to qualify for the Championship.
  • International Hunter Derby Championship Qualifying Period: ended June 1, 2015. Congratulations to all of those who qualified!
  • Did you miss the July 22 entry deadline? Late entries may still be accepted and a Premium Entry Option is available: For those who are not able to qualify for either championship through the standard process, USHJA has a Premium Entry Option available for the Pre-Green Incentive Championship and the International Hunter Derby Championship.

Whether you are thinking about creating a new website, or just want to make your existing site the better, here are 8 tips to ensure your site is a marketing powerhouse for your horse business.

1. Choose a good domain name. If you don't have a website already, one of the first things that you'll need to do is select a good domain name. Your domain name is what others will type into their browsers to access your website (Example: When it comes to domain names, shorter is usually better, but often those are already taken. In these cases, you can use a short modifier such as your state abbreviation at the end (such as It's generally best to stick with a ".com" instead of a ".net" or other extension. Also, avoid using a hyphen if possible because people will rarely remember to include it when typing your domain in their browsers.
