As the school year comes to a close, Intercollegiate Horse Show Association riders are being recognized for their accomplishments and just wrapped up their final competition of the year, the 2015 IHSA National Championship.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2015 USHJA/IHSA Regional Sportsmanship Awards. One student athlete in each participating IHSA region was selected for this award, which recognizes the exceptional sportsmanship demonstrated throughout all levels of riding. This is the first year these awards have been offered after being announced earlier this year.

Did you know the USHJA and ANRC have partnered to add horsemanship to the USHJA Outreach Program? By rewarding participation and the pursuit of education, USHJA/ ANRC aim to achieve a competitive experience that appeals to all levels of riders and organizations. With three (3) levels of competition and multiphase options, the USHJA /ANRC Horsemanship curriculum was designed to allow each individual or organization the flexibility and options necessary to best meet the needs of their facility and program participants. Nominate Deserving USHJA Members for Prestigious AwardsAwards
USHJA is now accepting nominations for the Jane Marshall Dillon, A.C. Randolph Owners Legacy and Amateur Sportsmanship awards! The deadline to nominate a deserving individual for these awards is July 31, 2015.

Nominate a deserving member for the Jane Marshall Dillon Award, which recognizes an individual who has devoted their life to teaching and mentoring riders beginning their education in the hunter/jumper discipline. Past recipients include Ralph Caristo, Nick Karazissis, Walter T. Kees and Sissie Anderton.

Nominate a deserving member for the Mrs. A.C. Randolph Owners Legacy Award, which honors an owner who has created a legacy of giving back to the hunter/jumper sport through continued dedication and support. Past recipients include Helen Lenahan, Harry Gill, Wilhelmine Stewart Kirby Waller, and R. Bruce Duchossois.

Nominate a deserving member for the Amateur Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes Amateur Owner and Adult Amateur exhibitors who exhibit a degree of excellence and integrity by supporting their fellow competitors and volunteering their time and resources to various aspects of the industry. Examples of this include serving on committees, providing sponsorships and promoting the welfare of the horse. Success in the show ring is a secondary factor.

USHJA Wheeler Museum Adds Chagrin Valley PHA Horse Show to Current Exhibit Museum

2015 marks the 50th anniversary of grand prix show jumping in the United States

Lexington, KY----April 23, 2015----Today, the United States Hunter JumperAssociation added the Chagrin Valley PHA Horse Show, which hosted the first show jumping grand prix held on American soil in 1965, to its current exhibit, A Sporting Tradition: Iconic Horse Shows Across the United States.

"This horse show brought us the first show jumping grand prix in the United States," said Wheeler Museum Committee Co-Chair Bill Rube. "We are pleased to include this historic competition among the many iconic horse shows featured in our current exhibit, which allows horse enthusiasts to come learn about the tradition and history of our great sport."
