 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Las Vegas  Sept. 28, 2018  The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association has accepted more than 370 entries for the inaugural AON/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, which will take place November 13-18, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The USHJA is now accepting late entries that meet the minimum qualifications for a section as space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Championships offer Hunter, Jumper and Age Group Equitation divisions with $96,000 in prize money for the USEF/USHJA National Jumper Championships, and each Hunter section section offers $4,000 in prize money. The Championships also feature Affiliate Championships at fence heights of 2' and 2'6", which have received a wonderful response from Affiliate Organizations.

"These Championships have been a long time in the making, and we couldn't be more excited with the response we've seen from members across the country," said Pat Boyle, Championship competition manager. "We have some spots still available, largely in our Hunter sections, and we would love to see those spots filled with the best of the best from all of our zones."

In addition to the competitive opportunities, the Championships will include educational opportunities for exhibitors and attendees. Sharon Classen, PT, ATC, CERP, who recently provided both equine and human physical therapy at the World Equestrian Games, will lead a session on equine and human sports medicine. Other sessions will focus on equine vital signs, hoof care, sports psychology, and judging. The sessions will be free and open to exhibitors and their guests.

The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, managed by Blenheim EquiSports, runs simultaneously with the Championships. It offers equestrian entertainment with highlight classes Wednesday through Friday evenings with free admission, plus a 'magical' evening of Show Jumping on Saturday, which includes the $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Las Vegas, presented by Walter Oil & Gas. For an admission fee of $20, pre-show fun includes a photo booth, caricature artist, magician plus in-arena entertainment. All AON/USHJA National Championships exhibitors will get two complimentary tickets to the Saturday night festivities (a value of $40).

The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, held at the South Point Hotel, Casino, & Spa's unique Arena & Equestrian Center, stands apart from other competitions, allowing horses and riders to stay under one roof with access to numerous amenities. Exhibitors can enjoy the spa, casino, 64 bowling lanes, a 16-screen movie theater and 11 dining establishments offered at the venue.
