IHSA/USHJA 3'3" Hunter Seat Medal

The IHSA/USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal serves as a stepping stone for equitation riders, providing an opportunity to qualify and compete in a national equitation final at fence heights of 3’3”.

The IHSA/USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal is open to Junior Active Members of the USEF and USHJA, who have not competed in any of the following within the same competition year (Dec. 1 – Nov 30): ASPCA Maclay Finals, USEF Hunter Seat Medal Finals, USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals (East or West), USHJA Gladstone Cup Equitation Classic, WIHS Equitation Classic Finals, Jump Canada Medal Finals, or North American Junior Equitation Championship.

Qualifying for the IHSA/USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal Finals runs from August 2nd of the previous competition year to September 1st of the current competition year.

Riders must accumulate a minimum of 10 points in any USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal classes during the qualifying period to be eligible to compete in the IHSA/USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal Finals. Once a rider has won the IHSA/USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal Finals, she/he is not eligible to compete again.

USEF-rated competitions wishing to hold a IHSA/USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal class at their competition must list the class in their prize list and notify USEF.

Riders wishing to compete, simply enter the class at a competition offering the class, and review and adhere to the specifications and all other applicable rules.
