HORSEMAN'S ASSISTANCE FUND

 The USHJA Foundation Horseman's Assistance Fund (HAF) was established to provide emergency financial support to individuals who require assistance as a result of accident, illness, and/or are otherwise incapacitated due to a natural disaster. 

The HAF provides funds to help with the following types of expenses:

  • Direct medical expenses related to the emergency situation
  • Insurance premiums to assist the individual in maintaining their insurance coverage during the time of emergency need
  • Necessary basic living expenses during the approved time of emergency need
     

Applicant Eligibility Requirements:

  • Active USHJA membership
  • US Citizen or Legal Resident
  • Financially incapacitated due to an illness, accident, or natural disaster
  • Exhausted all personal means of financial support

The funding to support this program is derived from private gifts, USHJA member events, and dedicated fundraising efforts. The majority of the gifts distributed from the fund are between $1,000 and $10,000, provided the applicant meets all eligibility requirements.
