Lexington, Ky.—Oct. 3, 2023—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to invite members to comment on Rule Change Proposals being considered for the 2025 competition year. Once signed into their USHJA member account, members may provide input on the proposals online here through October 31. Member comments are an important part of the rule change proposal process, and we look forward to their feedback.
At the same time members are providing input, USHJA committees and task forces are reviewing rule change proposals and providing comments as well. All amendments to the proposals are incorporated into drafts that will be presented during the 2023 USHJA Annual Meeting, which will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Concord Golf Resort & Spa in Concord, North Carolina, from December 4-7. The USHJA Annual Meeting will host a Rule Change Proposal Forum, during which additional comments may be provided by attendees for consideration by the Hunter and Jumper Working Groups.
The Rule Change Proposals will then move forward to the USHJA Board of Directors with the recommendations and comments of members, committees, task forces and Working Groups for voting. The USHJA Board of Directors' votes on the proposals will be submitted to US Equestrian for their consideration and ultimately to a vote by the US Equestrian Board of Directors during their mid-year Board of Directors meeting in 2024.
These rule change proposals remain proposals until the US Equestrian Board of Directors votes to approve, disapprove or defer each one. Their decision is the final step in the rule change proposal process each year. Rule changes are not immediately effective, so members should always check the effective date. The US Equestrian Rulebook and information about all US Equestrian Rule Change Proposals can be found here.
