Lexington, Ky.—April 14, 2023—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to invite Senior Active Competing or Senior Education/Non-Competing members in good standing to nominate individuals for the office of President now through May 1. Elections to the USHJA Board of Directors are voted on by Board members based on input from USHJA membership through the nomination process.
Members may nominate themselves, and prior USHJA governance experience is required for this position. Candidates for USHJA President must have served on the USHJA Board of Directors and as a USHJA Committee member within the previous eight years. The nomination period closes May 1. After careful review of all nominees, the Nominating Committee will recommend a final slate of candidates to be announced in early August.
The presidential election will be held at the September Board Meeting. The President-Elect selected in the September 2023 election will commence their term as President in December 2024, following a 15-month transition period. Over the 15 months, the President-Elect will work with the current President and provide input in the seating of Working Groups, Committees, and Task Forces; receive education in both the administrative functions of the USHJA and its relationship with the Federation and other affiliates; and serve as a non-voting member unless already serving as a member. The President-Elect will assume their full Presidential duties at the close of the 2024 USHJA Annual Meeting.
