Qualified Lists Now Available for 2019 AON/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National CSI3*-W

More than 1,200 Members from 30 States Entered to Qualify

Las Vegas—October 9, 2019—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association has accepted more than 800 entries for the second annual AON/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National, CSI3*-W, which will take place November 11-17, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada. More than 1,200 members from 30 states and Canada pre-entered the competition in order to qualify. Qualifying lists and wait lists for each section are now available online.

The Championships offer Hunter, Jumper and Equitation divisions with $96,000 in prize money for the USEF/USHJA National Jumper Championships, a $25,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, and each Hunter section section offers up to $4,000 in prize money. The Championships also feature Affiliate Championships at fence heights of 2' and 2'6", which received a wonderful response from Affiliate Organizations in 2018, and more than double the number of entries for 2019.

Due to the large number of entries, the $25,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby has been split into two classes. The professional division will compete on Monday evening, November 11, while the Junior/Amateur division will compete on Friday evening, November 15. Both classes will compete in the South Point Arena and each will have $25,000 in prize money to be awarded among the top 12.

"We are thrilled with the response and number of pre-entries we received for this year's Championships," said Pat Boyle, Championship competition manager. "The excitement from last year's inaugural Championships continue to build, and we can't wait to see everyone at South Point Arena in November."

In addition to the competitive opportunities, the Championships will include educational opportunities for exhibitors and attendees. Sharon Classen, PT, ATC, CERP, who provided both equine and human physical therapy at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games, will lead a session on equine and human sports medicine and conditioning. Other sessions will focus on sports psychology and judging and will include a course walk of the National Hunter Derby and Saturday night's Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Las Vegas course. The sessions will be free and open to exhibitors and their guests.

The Las Vegas National, CSI3*-W, managed by Blenheim EquiSports, runs simultaneously with the Championships. It offers an FEI International division including Saturday night’s featured event the $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Las Vegas, as well as a 1.40m Jumper division with $55,000 in prize money and highlight classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. For an admission fee of $20, Saturday evening’s pre-show fun begins at 5 p.m. and includes a photo booth, caricature artist, games, face painting and shopping on the concourse. At 7 p.m. Opening Ceremonies begin with a Parade of Nations, some super show jumping and autograph sessions with the FEI riders. All AON/USHJA National Championships exhibitors will get two complimentary tickets to the Saturday night festivities (a value of $40).

The Las Vegas National, CSI3*-W, held at the South Point Hotel, Casino, & Spa's unique Arena & Equestrian Center, stands apart from other competitions, allowing horses and riders to stay under one roof with access to numerous amenities. Exhibitors can enjoy the spa, casino, 64 bowling lanes, a 16-screen movie theater and 11 dining establishments offered at the venue.
