Las Vegas, Nev.—October 14, 2021—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce that qualifying lists and wait lists are available for each section of the third annual Marshall & Sterling Insurance/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National CSI4*-W, November 15-21, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada. More than 1,300 pre-entries were submitted in order to qualify and over 800 entries have been accepted. Qualifying lists and wait lists for each section are now available online.
The USHJA National Championships will feature National Hunter Championships for Amateur Owner Hunters, Junior Hunters, Pony Hunters, Green Hunters, Adult Amateur Hunters and Children’s Hunters. They will also include the USHJA National Equitation Championships open to Juniors and Amateurs, and the USEF/USHJA National Jumper Championships with 10 sections of Jumper competition from 1.00m to 1.30m for Junior, Amateur and Open Jumper competitors.
New this year, the USHJA Affiliate Championships will include expanded offerings for Juniors and Amateurs in the Hunters and Equitation at fence heights of 2' and 2'6" and Jumpers from .70m to .90m.
The Championships will also feature two $25,000 USHJA National Hunter Derbies, one for Juniors and Amateurs and one for Professionals, a 3’3” USHJA Hunter Seat Medal class, a 3'3" EMO Insurance/USHJA Jumping Seat Medal class, as well as 1.00m USEF/USHJA Low Children’s Jumper Championship, a 1.00m USEF/USHJA Low Adult Amateur Jumper Championship, and 3'0"/3'3" and 3'6"/3'9" USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Stake classes.
In addition to the competitive opportunities, the Championships will include educational opportunities for exhibitors and attendees. Tonya Johnston, MA, will lead two sessions on mental skills coaching, plus two Judge with the Judge sessions will be held during Round 1 of the California Professional Horsemen's Association West Coast Equestrian Medal Final and the $25,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby for Juniors and Amateurs. The sessions will be free and open to exhibitors and their guests. The National Hunter Derby and $150,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Las Vegas will both feature course walks with limited capacity.
The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, managed by Blenheim EquiSports, runs simultaneously with the Championships, offering an FEI International division culminating with the $150,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Las Vegas as well as highlight classes throughout the week. For an admission fee of $20, Saturday evening’s pre-show fun begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes a photo booth, caricature artist, games, face painting and shopping on the concourse. At 7:15 p.m., Opening Ceremonies begin with a Parade of Nations, show jumping and autograph sessions with FEI riders. All USHJA National Championships exhibitors will get two complimentary tickets to the Saturday night festivities.
The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, held at the South Point Hotel, Casino, & Spa's unique Arena & Equestrian Center, stands apart from other competitions, allowing horses and riders to stay under one roof with access to numerous amenities.
