USHJA Board of Directors Elect Four Directors At-Large and One Officer

Bellevue, Wash.—Dec. 12, 2022—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association Board of Directors elected five directors to the Board during their first meeting of the USHJA Annual Meeting, held this year in the Seattle, Washington, area from December 12-15. The five electees will fill four At-Large Director seats and the Officer position of Secretary/Treasurer.

The following were elected to the USHJA Board of Directors:

Secretary/Treasurer

  • John Bahret, Middletown, R.I. (Jumper)

Directors At-Large

  • Leea Bridgeman, Prospect, Ky. (Jumper)
  • Britt McCormick, McKinney, Texas (Hunter)
  • Cheryl Rubenstein, Memphis, Tenn. (Hunter)
  • James Urban, Elkhorn, Neb. (Jumper)

USHJA members submitted nominations for USHJA Board of Director positions, from which a slate of candidates was developed by the USHJA Nominating Committee.

This year's election concludes a four-year process of decreasing the size of the Board from 22 directors to 17 directors with the purpose of being more nimble and better able to serve members. All elected and appointed members of the Board of Directors will assume their duties immediately following the close of this year's Annual Meeting on December 15. Each position will serve a four-year term.

In November 2022, the 2024 election for President of the Board of Directors was moved forward to September 2023. Over the 15 months, the President-Elect will work with the current President and provide input in the seating of Working Groups, Committees, and Task Forces; receive education in both the administrative functions of the USHJA and its relationship with the Federation and other affiliates; and serve as a non-voting member unless already serving as a member. The President-Elect will assume their full Presidential duties at the close of the 2024 USHJA Annual Meeting.
