Lexington, Ky.—Jan. 15, 2025—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association has donated $10,000 to the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund to assist recovery efforts in California following the devastating wildfires. In addition, USHJA has pledged a portion of funds raised from the USHJA WCHR Spectacular Hunt Gala, held during the $150,000 USHJA WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular in Wellington, Florida, on Saturday, February 15. These funds will further contribute to aiding equestrian populations affected by this natural disaster.
Funds donated to the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund are dedicated to helping horses and equestrians in moments of need. These grants have provided critical resources and aided equestrian populations who are victims of disasters including but not restricted to hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, blizzards, and fires. Contributions to the fund enable timely and targeted support for equine welfare during emergencies.
“The equestrian community comes together in extraordinary ways during times of hardship,” said Britt McCormick, USHJA President. “Through this contribution, we hope to alleviate some of the burden on those affected by the California wildfires and ensure that horses receive the care and resources they need.”
USHJA encourages members of the equestrian community to join in supporting these efforts. Donations to the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund can be made at usef.org/donate by selecting the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund from the dropdown menu.
