Lexington, Ky.—June 28, 2023—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce the winning of five American Horse Publications Equine Media Awards at the 2023 Equine Media “Meet at the Mesa” Conference in Tempe, Arizona, on June 24. The awards recognize USHJA and its staff for their outstanding work across various categories, including print and online editorials, digital publications, equine-related podcasts, multimedia ad campaigns and social media campaigns.
"It is with great pride that we celebrate these media achievements in the equine industry," said Kevin Price, executive director at USHJA. "USHJA and our staff are committed to elevating the equestrian sports of Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation, and effectively communicating our message to the equestrian community."
Written by Michelle Bloch and edited by Tricia Booker, In Stride magazine's series "Horse and Rider Care Series: Systems of Action & Organization" topped the Editorial Series category. The articles were published in the January, March, May, July, September and November 2022 issue of In Stride and discussed developing systems to improve your time in the barn and the saddle.
In Stride magazine also earned the Equine Media Industry Single Issue or Multi-Issue Electronic Publication win for the May 2022 Digital-Only Special Issue: IHSA Edition. The issue was edited by Booker and designed by Michelle Miller.

On Course podcast topped the Business Equine-related Podcast category with the May 2022 episode, "The Thrill of Jumpers with Zoie Brogdon." Hosted by Terisé Cole, the episode featured Brogdon's discussion about her love of Jumpers and how she is making strides toward diversifying the sport both in and out of the saddle.

The USHJA x Free Ride Equestrian Apparel Collaboration won the Business Equine-related Multimedia Ad Campaign category. Led by Meredith Ekstedt, Katie Rosenfels, Cassidy Brooke Photography, Suzanne Dorman, Louise Taylor and Joshua Mims, the campaign featured an omni-channel strategy including social media, email, podcast, influencer collaboration, advertising, media placements, and print and digital collateral.
The Business Equine-related Social Media Campaign category went to the "We Are U.S. Hunter Jumper" campaign launched in 2022. Highlighting all the USHJA has to offer its members and the sport, the campaign featured personal member success stories and interactive social media live stream for each discipline, utilizing member-generated video, quotes and images. Ekstedt, Dorman, Mims, Cole, Rachel Mileski and Elizabeth Mayo led the campaign's efforts.
